Our mother lived on this Earth from 1950-2022. The dash (-) was the most important part of her life. She she lived! She four raised children instilling the importance of education and hard work; she focused on earning a BS in nursing and later returned to obtain a master’s in science; she spent most of her adult life caring for and educating patients (Dickinson County Health Department, Dickinson County Hospital), managing an operating room (St Francis Hospital) and later as a Bay College nursing instructor teaching students how to treat patients with the best care and dignity. She loved to spend time and travel with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchilds. Her dash her doesn’t end there.
Our mother knew how to live. She loved to spend time with family and friends, traveling at any opportunity that came her way. She gardened, read books, played cards, sewed and was the most fabulous cook who passed that love onto all her children. When anyone she knew needed words of encouragement, wisdom, and comfort, she was there. She will be known as a wonderful mother, grandmother, GG (great-grandmother), sister, daughter, wife, inspiring nursing instructor, woman, and the best of friends one could have. She made her dash (-) count!
She is survived by her children, Julie (Paul) Cowling, Calvin (Cheryl) Formolo and Jodi Formolo; stepchildren, Kim Beachy, Guy LaCount and Rachelle LaCount; grandchildren, Jordan (Gary) McCarroll, Jason (Natalie) Fish, Courtney Cowling, Katie Cowling, Theodore (Mikayla) Pineau, Jacob Formolo, Ryan Cowling, Jonathon Pineau, and Jenna Pineau; step-grandchildren, Kyle Lewis, Brian Lewis and Chelsea Charles; great-grandchildren, Aiden McCaroll, Jayden McCaroll, Landon Morgan, and Addison Hagen; siblings, Wendy (Greg) Larson, Alana (Grant) Mayer, Bucky Huotari, Beth (Pat) LaVigne, Bonnie (Jeff) Pirlot; sister/brother-n-laws, Peter (Michiyo) LaCount, Suzanne (John) Chiapetta, and Bruce (Cheryl) LaCount; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Terrence LaCount; youngest son, Cory LaCount; grandchildren, Jessica Cowling and Gregory Charles; sister, Lynn Huotari and her dela beloved dog, Leila Lu.
